Woman With Walker Beaten With Pot On Harlem Street: Police

Police are trying to figure out why a group of people attacked and robbed a 61-year-old woman using a walker on a Harlem sidewalk this week.

HARLEM, NY — Police asked the public for help investigating a brutal group robbery targeting a woman in her sixties on a Harlem sidewalk this week.

The robbery happened around 8:18 p.m. Tuesday, as the 61-year-old woman was walking near the corner of West 151st Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

Footage shows two women arguing with the victim before one pushes her down to the sidewalk. Another begins hitting her with an object that police said was a pot.

Three other people then enter the frame, including a person who stomps on the victim and two men who stand by, watching as the victim is dragged along the sidewalk.

Police said the suspects stole the woman's cash, credit cards and walker. An NYPD spokesperson said police were trying to figure out why the group targeted the woman, who was not seriously injured.
