OAKLAND — A 47-year-old woman was knocked unconscious and had her car stolen early Friday morning outside her Oakland hills home, authorities said.
The violent carjacking happened about 1:22 a.m. Friday in the 6400 block of Ascot Drive in the Piedmont Pines area.
Authorities said the woman was outside her home when she was approached by a man who without warning hit her over the head with some kind of blunt object.
The woman fell bleeding and unconscious to the pavement and the attacker fled in her 2103 Subaru, authorities said.
The woman was found by neighbors who called police. She regained consciousness but it was not clear if she was taken for medical treatment.
The car was still missing later Friday.
A detailed description of the suspect was not available.
