'Woke Baby Book Fair' Coming To The Upper West Side

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY —Lincoln Center will host the "Woke Baby Book Fair" on the last day of July, a free family-friendly "celebration of justice-oriented children's books."

The books are curated by Mahogany L. Browne, Lincoln Center's first-ever poet-in-residence.

The day's events will offer eight back-to-back book readings and signings by guest poets and authors in the Outdoor Reading Room and at the foot of Tisch Illumination Lawn. There will also be games and crafts, baby movement classes led by a yoga instructor, live music for kids, and a fresh produce give-away.

Here's the full schedule:

• 1:00 pm: DJ begins spinning at The Isabel and Peter Malkin Stage at Hearst Plaza-Baby movement with Brooklyn Yoga Club's Paris Alexandra at the tent on the south side of Reflection Pool-Reading 1: Mahogany L. Browne at the tent on the south side of Reflection Pool
• 1:15 pm: Reading 2: Jon Sands at the Outdoor Reading Room on West 65th Street & Amsterdam Avenue
• 1:30 pm: Reading 3: Isaac Fitzgerald at the tent on the south side of Reflection Pool
• 1:45 pm: Reading 4: Christine Platt at the Outdoor Reading Room on West 65th Street & Amsterdam Avenue
• 2:00 pm: Reading 5: Drag Queen Story Hour with Cholula Lemon! (followed by photo op for kids) at the tent on the south side of Reflection Pool
• 2:15 pm: Reading 6: Trae, of Black Book Swap at the Outdoor Reading Room on West 65th Street & Amsterdam Avenue
• 2:45 pm: Reading 7: Elisabet Velasquez at the Outdoor Reading Room on West 65th Street & Amsterdam Avenue3:00 pm: Reading 8: Big Mike at the tent on the south side of Reflection Pool
• 3:30 pm: Woke Baby Book Fair ends

Lincoln Center is requiring unvaccinated guests to wear a mask at all times except when they're eating and drinking.
