It's alleged that in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 15th, 2 Lubbock men attempted to kidnap and hold captive a Lubbock couple.

KAMC News reports that Lubbock Police received reports of a civil disturbance at around 3 a.m. in the 3200 block of Itasca Street. Dispatch later told the responding officer to meet the first victim at a home in the 3200 block of Harvard Street.

The victim told police that the 2 men, 30-year-old Cruz Anthony Deleon, Jr. and 30-year-old Mark Adam Alonzo, had abducted him and his wife and "intended to terrorize them."

The victim went on to say that Alonzo was with the couple in a home the day before, and then Deleon eventually showed up looking for someone else he said lived there and owed him money. The victim says Deleon had a firearm when he walked into the home and even pointed it at the couple at one point.

It's alleged that the victim was forced to ride with Deleon as they drove to the 3200 block of Canton Avenue to find the man who potentially owed money. Alonzo apparently kept watch over the wife while this was happening. Deleon is said to have told the woman that she would be killed if she tried to tell police anything.

Eventually, Deleon and the victim returned home, and the 2 victims were then released.

Deleon was arrested for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and failure to stop and render aid. Alonzo was arrested for aggravated kidnapping. Deleon remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center with bonds totaling $75,000, while Alonzo's bond totaled $25,000.
