2 Charged In Connection With July 3 Phoenix Shooting

A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were charged in connection with a deadly shooting in Phoenix on July 3, Phoenix police said.

PHOENIX, AZ — A man and a 16-year-old boy were charged Monday in connection with a deadly shooting on Phoenix's southwest side in early July, Phoenix police said.

The shooting in the 3800 block of West Chambers Street on July 3 killed a 17-year-old girl, according to police.

Jesus J. Valle Padilla, 19, and the unidentified youth were charged with facilitation of murder in connection with the girl's death, police said.

Police are seeking a third person, Lindsey B. Aguilar, 28, in connection with the shooting.

If convicted of the charge, Padilla and the boy each face as much as 3.7 years in prison.
