Man, 25, killed in Queens drive-by shooting; gunman sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was killed when he was repeatedly shot in a drive-by shooting in Queens on Sunday night, according to police.

The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m., in front of 32-28 137 Street Street near 32nd Avenue in Flushing, when a gunman opened fire from a black sedan, striking the 25-year-old victim in the head and arm, officials said.

The victim was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in critical condition, and later died, authorities said.

He was later identified by police as Aldair Melchor.

The suspect fled the scene in the vehicle, the NYPD said.

It was unclear what let up to the shooting.

No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
