Gas prices climb slightly

The cost for a gallon of unleaded gas in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area went up one penny this week, to an average of $3.13.  According to the AAA, that's seven cents less than the statewide average of $3.20.

Coca-Cola Beverage Northeast Inc. is seeking tax breaks and incentives from the Erie County Industrial Development Agency in order to build a new 112,000-square-foot complex in the Town of Tonawanda.  Business First reports that Coca-Cola intends to replace an existing, older building. It plans on investing $22.61 million in the project.  The ECIDA plans a public hearing on the plan on July 28th, with a vote on the incentives expected in August.

Kyklo will move to its new headquarters at 737 Main Street next month, according to Business First.  The company, which builds software tools for distributors in the electrical and automation products fields, will take up space on the third floor.

Merchants Insurance Group has begun including inserts to policyholders to encourage them to switch to paperless billing.  As an incentive, Merchants is donating $1 to Mothers Against Drunk driving for each policyholder who signs up to go paperless.
