ANTIOCH — An attempted home invasion robbery Sunday morning left a 19-year-old resident shot and three suspects under arrest, including one who suffered multiple stab wounds, police said Monday.

The attempted robbery happened at about  4 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 100 block of Hillside Road.

In a news release police said several suspects forced their way into the house where they were confronted by the man who ended up being shot and other family members, including a 54-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man.

No one else was shot but police said one of the suspects, a 23-year-old San Pablo man, was apparently stabbed multiple times during the confrontation.

The 23-year-old man  was dropped off at a hospital by a 20-year-old Richmond man.  Both were arrested at the hospital and the 23-year-old man is expected to recover from his wounds.

Antioch police detectives took over the investigation and were able to identify a third suspect, a 22-year-old San Pablo man who was arrested later in Richmond.

Police have not yet said who stabbed the 23-year-old man or if the suspects knew the residents of the house or why it was targeted.
