The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences will be graced by the presence of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on Friday, August 20th, 2021, at 7 p.m.

Lubbock is back in the swing of things, and this is just one of the many amazing shows coming to our brand new concert hall. Get excited.

First things first, be sure to download the 94.5 FMX app because we'll have an exclusive presale code for tickets to the show. We'll also have an app exclusive contest on both 94.5 FMX and Awesome 98, so download both apps and turn on push notifications to double your chances to win tickets to the show.

Joan Jett has been rocking with the Blackhearts since 1980, but was surprisingly turned down by 23 different labels. She went on to have eight platinum and gold albums, and nine Top 40 singles. Some of her most iconic tunes include "Bad Reputation," "I Love Rock 'N' Roll," "I Hate Myself For Loving You" and "Crimson and Clover."

Not only has Jett been touring and rocking the mic with fellow badasses like The Who, Green Day and the Foo Fighters, she's also acted and appeared in movies, television and theater. Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning starred in the movie The Runaways, a film based on Jett's first band and the beginning of her career.

It's also worth mentioning that Joan Jett has one of the longest-running indie labels in the business, Blackheart. She's produced and overseen albums by Bikini Kill, Circus Lupus and more.

Mark your calendars, Lubbock, and come out to see Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. This is a performance you don't want to miss. Jett hasn't been to Lubbock in a long time, and you never know if she will be back any time soon.

Tickets range from $55 to $75 (plus taxes and fees) and will be available beginning Friday, June 18th and can be purchased at The Buddy Holly Hall Box Office, as well as their website or by calling ETIX at (800) 514-3849. Again, if you have our app, you'll get a special presale code on Wednesday to get tickets before anyone else.
