Man fatally shot in University Village

The 24-year-old was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his head and chest in a vehicle about 10 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Roosevelt Road, Chicago police said.

A man was found fatally shot Friday in University Village on the Near West Side.

The 24-year-old was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his head and chest in a vehicle about 10 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Roosevelt Road, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Latrell Goodwin. An autopsy conducted Saturday ruled his death a homicide.

No arrests have been reported. Area Three detectives are investigating.
