Three arrested during serving of search warrant

Wichita County deputies received information  a suspect with outstanding warrants was staying at the Deluxe Inn on Broad Street in Wichita Falls.  

According to the arrest affidavit:

Burnice Wagner

A deputy said he knocked on the motel room door about 10 p.m. Thursday and Rae Lynn Malone let him inside. He detained a man thought to have a warrant but discovered it was not the right man. The man was identified as Burnice Wagner. The deputy noticed a mattress was sunken in and lifted it to find a plastic narcotic bag and a glass methamphetamine pipe. Deputies detained a second woman later identified as Latesha Brown and found a digital scale commonly used in distributing  narcotics.

After they were detained, Brown and Malone told the deputies they were bringing Wagner groceries. A further search uncovered two bags of methamphetamine, a blow torch, and a wallet that contained $900 cash in addition to Wagner’s Social Security card and a green plastic baggy containing meth.

After they were arrested, Brown admitted to going to the motel room to inspect the quality of the meth for Wagner and to distribute it.

Wagner told the deputies the two bags of meth belonged to Brown. The suspected meth was weighed and tested and came back positive.

Malone was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Her bond was set at $2,500 by a judge.

Wagner and Brown were arrested and charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Their bonds were set at $100,000 each by a judge. 

Wagner was put on hold without bond for a parole violation.
