Wichita Falls police found an assault suspect in a blood-covered bed and a victim who didn't want to cooperate.

Joshua Cox

 According to the police report:

Officers were sent to the 2000 block of Taylor Street Tuesday night. They found Joshua Cox lying on a bed with fresh blood on the sheets.

Cox said his girlfriend of two or three months was lying next him, got up and came back spitting up blood. An officer noticed Cox had blood on his arm and knuckles.

The woman told police they were "play fighting" and he hit her in the nose. The officer noticed the victim had blood around her nose consistent with being hit. The woman said she got scared and ran to a neighbor’s house because Cox was acting crazy and would not give her her phone. When the officer asked what happened, she said “I’m not going to tell you what happened, I don’t want him to go to jail. The woman got on the phone and was talking to Cox’s daughter. She said, “Your dad literally punched me in the nose, I had to run to the neighbors to get away.”

The officer noted the victim seemed to be only concerned about Cox not going to jail and would not give police any more information.
