SAN JOSE – One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting Wednesday night east of downtown, police said.

The shooting was reported at about 8:10 p.m. on the 900 block of East Santa Clara Street, near Roosevelt Park, the San Jose Police Department said in a social media post.

Police found two men, each suffering at least one gunshot wound. One was taken to local hospital, where he was declared dead, becoming the city’s 15th homicide of the year, police said. The second man suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A second shooting was reported just after 10 p.m., police said. A man arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound. The injury was described as not life-threatening.
