San Jose police investigate fatal hit-and-run

Police in San Jose are looking for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision that killed a man Tuesday night.

Officers responded to the 1500 block of Kooser Road just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, San Jose Police said in a statement on Wednesday morning.

Police said a man was riding an electric unicycle eastbound on Kooser Rd., in the middle of the traffic lane, when he fell down. He was then struck by an unknown vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released due to pending notification of next of kin.

The incident marked the 16th fatal traffic collision of 2021.
