BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Central District Health on Friday says a wastewater sample taken in March recently showed low levels of the Brazilian variant of the coronavirus.
It was detected at "very low" levels from a sample taken March 22 and has not been detected in any clinical samples, health officials say.
The Brazilian variant was first detected in the United States in January and it has 17 unique mutations.
Central District says it will continue to monitor wastewater data and clinical samples for variant activity moving forward.
