Stunning dashcam video shows suspect open fire on cops with AK-47

Stunning dashcam video captured the moment three Georgia cops were shot by a suspect wielding an AK-47

The clip, taken early Monday morning in Carroll County near the border of Alabama, shows cops in a squad car rushing towards Pier Shelton, 28, who they’d been engaged in a high-speed chase with, WVTM reported

“Let’s move down! Let’s move down! Come on!” an officer can be heard saying in the video, which was tweeted Thursday by the New Jersey Police Benevolent Association Thursday

As the patrol car speeds towards Shelton’s vehicle, he suddenly becomes visible in the headlights and immediately starts firing numerous rounds at the cops before they shot him dead, according to the outlet and the video.

The clip shows smoke and the windshield cracking from the bullets.

The officers who were wounded during the gunfire were identified as Carroll County Deputy John Repetto, Carrollton police Sgt. Rob Holloway and Villa Rica Police Officer Chase Gordy, a spokeswoman for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office previously told The Post.

Carroll County Sheriff Terry Langley told reporters the officers are expected to recover and the situation “could have been a lot worse.”

“If not for the heroic efforts of all Officers and agencies involved and to Corporal Troutt and Deputy Repetto for stopping the suspect, this incident could have resulted in more Officers being injured or killed and the suspects could have posed an even bigger threat to the public as this occurred in a residential area, and at this time of the morning, people are getting ready for work and staff is getting ready to arrive at the school,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The pursuit began at about 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 20 when a Georgia State Patrol trooper clocked Shelton’s vehicle driving 111 mph.

His brother, Aaron Shelton, 22, was later taken into custody but it’s not clear if he’s facing any charges.
