34-year-old Clifford Dow of White City, Ore. died from his injuries at the scene of the crash, according to ISP.

CALDWELL, Idaho — One person is dead after a crash involving two semi-trucks on Interstate 84 in Caldwell, according to the Idaho State Police (ISP).

At 11:40 a.m. on Friday, 24-year-old Jesus Gastelum Corrales of Glenns Ferry was driving east in a 2006 Peterbilt tractor-trailer. Gastelum Corrales lost control and drove over the median, colliding with another tractor-trailer driven by 34-year-old Clifford Dow of White City, Ore.

Gastelum Corrales was taken to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center but Dow, unfortunately, died at the scene of the crash.

ISP tweeted that all westbound lanes of I-84 are blocked at Franklin Road (Exit 29) in Caldwell due. The interstate was closed for several more hours but reopened around 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Idaho Transportation Department sent out an emergency traffic alert that the interstate is closed from Exit 33 in Nampa to Exit 29 in Caldwell.

A KTVB staff member drove by the crash scene around noon. Photos and video show several fire trucks, an ambulance and numerous police cars on the westbound off-ramp. Two semi-trucks are badly damaged.

ISP is seeking witnesses to the crash. Anyone with further information is urged to call ISP dispatch at 208-846-7500
