OLYMPIA, Wash.-Thursday has been dubbed "Vax Day" in Washington State. That's the day all people 16-years-old and older become eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

"For the last four months, we have been focusing on those who have been most vulnerable, those who we believe are at a higher risk, those who because of occupation might be at risk, or seniors or elders above the age of 65, just about the concerns of protecting all of these individuals from COVID-19", noted Washington State Health Secretary Dr. Umair Shah.

However, Dr. Shaw adds that while that is good news, the supply of vaccinations into the state will remain a challenge, especially during the current halt on distributing the Johnson and Johnson version.

Over last weekend, the State of Washington surpassed four million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered.
