Daniel, good morning to you actually. Good morning. This is very exciting here in Harbour Town. You can already feel that excitement here. We've already seen those thousands of fans in the area. But what's special about today is that will be the first time that they're actually allowed back on the course because that program tees off at seven this morning. Over the last several days, crews have been working to put those finishing touches on the course and areas around Harbor Town. This year, the tournament is being held at a 20 capacity, meaning that they will be around 27,000 fans this year compared to the around 135,000 that we have seen in the years before. The pandemic. Now, one b for native is sharing her experience as she is excited to welcome many fans back to the area. Well, this is my sixth year doing this. So I'm mostly excited because I'm seeing people from the last six years that I was seeing be prepared for the sun, bring a lot of bug spray and we're just ready to have fun. And because of the pandemic, there is a lot of safety precautions in place this year, including temperature checks. That will be mandatory for fans to be able to get into heritage as well as they will be required to wear a face mask and fill out of covid 19 questionnaire. And also because of the pandemic parking is very limited and there will be no general parking here in the Sea Pines resort. So coming up at 6 30 we'll be talking about where you can park. If you're playing to Uber, where those Uber stops will be and if you're feeling a little adventurous how you can actually bike into Sea Pines and park near the clubhouse. I think vaccinating is so important um especially in the world of education. Um but for everyone I think it's part of your obligation now. There is no direct link between the clots and the vaccine. Time check this morning at 605 and A little more than 30 of Georgia's population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 shot. Most of those doses administered were either Madonna or Pfizer. Of the nearly five million people vaccinated, only 1.7 million people have received two shots. And here's a look at south Carolina where 82,000 people have received a johnson and johnson vaccine. Of the more than two million people vaccinated, most have received Pfizer or moderna. That was about 70 of South Carolina's population. That has not been vaccinated. Senate Minority leader mitch McConnell is continuing to urge others to get vaccinated despite the johnson and johnson setback. It's extremely important to finish the job. An update this morning on a deadly crash that shut down I 95 for several hours yesterday. Ashleigh we now know the reason that crash happened. It was the end of what had started as a police chase port with birds, police chasing a car there along interstate 95. They have not said though, actually what cause them to start that chase? That chase of course involved that car and an 18 wheeler unbelievable video you can see here traffic backed up for miles and backed up for 12 hours. This all started around 10 o'clock actually Tuesday night, monday night and lasted until late yesterday morning. Again another shot of just traffic tied up and there's that overturned 18 wheeler. You're looking at there, look at the mangled car that was involved in that crash that just tells you that there had to be some high speed involved for that car to be that tangled and mangled. And of course Ashleigh the person in that car we understand according to police, his name is Freddy Holmes Jr he was from Polar and of course we have reached out to Portland for police to find out what started that chase. The 20 year old unarmed black men killed by police during a traffic stop. Some demonstrators used the line of umbrellas to shield themselves as police fired flash bangs the protest coming hours before an expected announcement today on possible charges for rights death. According to our Minneapolis station KSTP, the county attorney's office is planning on charging former police officer kim potter today. The extent of the charges, unclear rights loved ones including the mother of his two year old son, are demanding a murder charge. I just want justice for my son because officer potter shot and killed right sunday while trying to arrest him on an outstanding warrant records show right fell to appear in court on charges of possessing a firearm without a permit and running away from law enforcement body. Camera video shows right trying to get back into his car. During the arrest, Officer potter is heard yelling taser but then fires her gun officials call the shooting an accidental discharge, Tuesday the 26 year veteran tried to quit writing. I believe it is in the best interests of the community, the department and my fellow officers if I resign immediately. But the mayor says he has not accepted potter's resignation amid outcry from local leaders who say she should be fired because the resignation could allow her to collect a pension. Police Chief Tim Gannon has also resigned after being criticized for the department's response, Kenneth martin abc news new york. Also making headlines today. President Joe Biden will announce his administration's plan to remove all US. troops in Afghanistan were told the goal is to have them out by September 11. However, this keeps us forces in the country beyond the May one deadline agreed on by the Trump administration and the Taliban. Well about 2500 American troops and NATO forces are still in the country. Some republicans say it's too soon to leave. Precipitously withdrawing U. S. Forces from Afghanistan is a grave mistake. It is a retreat in the face of an enemy that has not yet been vanquished. An abdication of american leadership. Meantime, south Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham sharing similar thoughts to other leaders. He called President Biden's plan a disaster in the making. Graham went on to say a full withdrawal from Afghanistan is so irresponsible and paves the way for another september 11th attack on our country.
