DISCONTINUED BLUE ALERT: Texas man on the run after shooting police officer

UPDATE: Officials have discontinued the Blue Alert.

ORIGINAL STORY:

BURLESON, Texas – A Blue Alert has been issued after a man shot and seriously injured a North Texas police officer.

The Burleson Police Department, south of Fort Worth, said Jerry D. Elders, 39, shot one of its’ officers.

Elders is 5’11’’ and 165 pounds, he has brown hair and blue eyes.

Police say they are looking for a silver 2014 Toyota Tacoma with Texas license plate DKB6819, the truck has damage on the front.

If you see Elders or the truck, you’re asked to call the BPD at 817-426-9903. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
