Dell Rapids, Brandon, Harrisburg elect new city councilors

Brandon voters elected a Ward II representative at the municipal election on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

Several suburbs of Sioux Falls have announced the unofficial results of their April 13 elections.

In Dell Rapids, Ward 3 incumbent Chad Ronshaugen has been re-elected to the Dell Rapids City Council, while Marla Wenzel has defeated incumbent Robert Mier in Ward 4.

Ronshaugen defeated Stephanie Deuter 74-60 and Wenzel defeated Mier 25-20.

The results of the election won't be official until the City Council canvasses the results at the April 19 City Council meeting.

In Brandon, incumbent David Kull has been re-elected to the Brandon City Council, defeating Megan Bassett 138-45. 

Voter turnout for the municipal election was reported at 7.1%.

Harrisburg's election saw Tom Anez take the Ward 1 seat with 54 votes to Benjamin Merrill's 34. The Ward 2 seat will go to Chris Kindt, who ran unopposed.
