Farmington Resident Charged With Alcohol Crimes Involving Kids

FARMINGTON, CT — A 40-year-old Farmington resident was in custody on $700,000 worth of bonds Wednesday as part of what police described as a "months-long" investigation into his activities with alcohol and minors.

Two warrants were served to David Olivo Monday and he appeared in court Tuesday, police and judicial system records indicate.

On one warrant, Olivo was charged with seven counts of risk of injury to a child, plus a single count of permitting a minor to posses alcohol. One the second warrant, he was charged with one count each of the same charges.

He was subsequently held on two $350,ooo bonds after Tuesday's arraignment, judicial system records show.

In a news release distributed Wednesday, local authorities said that the Farmington Police Department Detective Unit and the FPD School Resource Officer received information that Olivo was hosting parties at his Farmington residence during which he hosted youths "under the age of 16."

According to the news release, detectives determined that Olivo was, "providing alcohol and drugs to the youths."

After what police called an "extensive investigation," detectives identified "no less than eight" juveniles who were "impacted by the activities occurring at the residence."

Monday's warrant arrest is one of several pending cases in the state superior court system involving Olivo, records show. To date, the Farmington Police Department has arrested Olivo for 12 counts of risk of injury to a child and one count of fourth-degree sexual assault.

Farmington police Wednesday were also saying that anyone who has information related to parties occurring at Olivo's residence or anyone who "may have been victimized by events occurring at the residence" should contact Detective Sergeant Stephen Egan at 860-675-2414.
