Sugar Pine Foundation offers several spring plantings around Lake Tahoe and Reno

Join the Sugar Pine Foundation this spring at several different planting locations. The public is invited to pick up seedlings or plant with the group. Space is very limited and reservation is needed. Email maria@sugarpinefoundation.org or call 650-814-9565 to make sure they haven't exceeded capacity for the planting/s you want to join.

Reno Planting: Sunday, April 18
10am-1pm

You will need a 4WD vehicle and high clearance to access the planting site - or a ride. We're meeting at the top of Pinehaven Dr and carpooling/caravanning to the site about 20 minutes away. We're collaborating with Family First Chiropractic of Reno/Sparks and planting on Humboldt - Toiyabe National Forest lands.

TEA at Sagehen: Monday, April 26
9:30am-12:30pm
This is a planting with second grade Tahoe Expedition Academy school classes. Members of the public are welcome to come pick up seedlings or plant with us in their own group. We will meet at the school at 9:30 am, and caravan to the planting site at Sagehen.

Emerald Fire Planting: Tuesday, April 27
10-12pm
Join Liberty Utilities employees to plant in this 2017 fire scar. Park at the pullout on highway 89 across Cascade Rd or along Cascade Rd.

Stateline Planting: Tuesday, April 27
1-3pm
This is a planting with homeschool kids. Members of the public are invited to join the planting or pick up seedlings for their yards. Park and meet at the first parking area in Van Sickle Bi-State Park.

South Lake Tahoe Planting: Wednesday, April 28
10am-12pm
This is a planting with the Elevated Academy 7th and 8th grade science classes. Members of the public are invited to join the planting or pick up seedlings for their yards. Meet and park at the LTCC Community Fields parking lot.

Georgetown Planting: Friday, April 30
9am – 3pm
This is a volunteer planting and seedling release day with the Sierra Corps at Stumpy Meadows Reservoir. We will meet at the USFS office in Georgetown before caravanning to the site.

Truckee Planting: Saturday, May 1
10am-12pm
This is a planting with the Quakers of Reno. Members of the public are invited to come plant or pick up seedlings for their yards. Meet at the Truckee Ranger District offices to caravan to our Sagehen planting site.
