First, the bad news. If you live on one of these streets, you might be dealing with orange cones in the near future. But the good news? You’ll soon have a freshly repaved — and pothole-free — roadway.

As part of the 2021 paving season, Pittsburgh’s Department of Mobility and Infrastructure this week released the first round of streets due for asphalt pavement resurfacing. The full list of streets to be paved can be found here.

The city is investing nearly $16 million in this year’s repaving program, which includes ADA curb ramp upgrades and repair of Pittsburgh’s concrete, brick and block stone streets. Mechanical patching also will take place on trouble spots found on otherwise acceptable street corridors.

Altogether, this year’s program includes about 34 miles of streets across the city’s nine council districts.

Paving is expected to kick off Sunday, April 18. Because many residents remain working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, extra efforts will be made to notify residents to move their vehicles before paving takes place.

Streets scheduled for upcoming paving also will be posted weekly on DOMI’s website and will be publicized on the city’s social media channels.
