Loren E. Anderson, 67, of Duluth, passed away, Monday, April 12, 2021. He was born December 10, 1953, in Duluth to Edward and Laura Anderson.

Loren was a proud graduate of Duluth East, forever a Greyhound. He Graduated from UMD with a degree in business. He spent most of his career as an Independent Contractor doing home inspections for banks and mortgage companies. This career choice allowed him to continue his quest for that elusive hole in one.

His family was his treasure. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. Time spent with his family has been a gift of treasured memories. He was proud to be the father of a second-generation Greyhound basketball player, never missing a game Greg played.

His friendships ran deep, several beginning in Kindergarten. A bond he shared with some of his “Noper Buddies.” Kathy knew her family reunions would be best scheduled around his Noper Weekend.

In 2019 he jumped at the opportunity to take a last minute road trip to Augusta National. He was able to walk the course and study the hole, taking in the beauty of “A tradition unlike any other.”

Loren’s granddaughters will miss their dogpiles with grandpa, the cell phone stopper, telling scary stories in the closet, and the never-ending search for the red solo cups. His granddaughter Emma will miss her golf partner and Kathy will forever miss the water glass left on the end table, her Friday night dates and waking up next to Loren.

Loren was preceded in death by parents; daughter, Sara; stepfather, Gordy; brother-in-law, Bruce Smith.

He is survived by wife, Kathy; children, Greg (Joanna), and Amanda; grandchildren, Emma and Mariah; sister, Joyce Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Kathy would like to thank everyone who rallied behind her to get her home in time to say goodbye.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Team Sanfilippo TSF Inc, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.

Funeral Service will be 11AM, Monday, April 19, 2021, with visitation one-hour prior in Peace in Christ Church, 5007 Maple Grove Rd, Hermantown, MN 55811 Masks are Required.
