UPDATE: Two arrested in death of Bakersfield man found in Orchard

Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with 27-year-old Edward Rodrigo Medina's death.

The Bakersfield Police Department said 36-year-old Manuel Zamora and 36-year-old Fabian Villareal were arrested on suspicion of murder. Villareal was arrested in the 300 block of Casa Loma Drive and Zamora was arrested in the 1300 block of Easton Drive. Both men are booked into Kern County Jail.

Medina, who was reported missing, was found killed on April 12.

Medina was found deceased in the 7100 Block Meadows of the Kern Drive.

Officers said Medina was last seen around 7:30 p.m. on April 7, on the 10100 block of Wible Road.

Medina’s disappearance was considered suspicious at the time after his car was found abandoned in the area of East Planz Road and South Mount Vernon Avenue.
