TOMMIE: THEY’RE PREPARED TO VACCINATE 500 IOWANS. THERE ARE NO BOUNDARIES TO THIS MASS EVENT. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN POWESHIEK COUNTY TO SHOW UP, AND GET A SHOT. The Iowa Department of Public Health reported 733 new positive COVID-19 tests and no additional deaths Wednesday.At 10 a.m., the health department reported 387,202 total positive tests, 339,094 total recoveries and 5,857 total deaths since the pandemic began. The health department reported 386,469 total positive tests and 5,857 total deaths 24 hours earlier.IPDH reports 1,907,934 vaccine doses have been administered in the state, with 798,577 individuals completing the vaccination series. The 14-day average dropped from 4.9% to 4.7% and the 7-day average dropped from 4.8% to 4.7%. State data shows 4,618,575 COVID-19 tests have been administered in Iowa.The number of Iowans hospitalized with COVID-19 dropped from 220 to 218 in the last 24 hours. There are 57 patients in ICU and 14 patients on ventilators. The number of Iowa’s long-term care facilities reporting outbreaks remains at three. The state reports 31 positive cases and six recoveries among residents and staff within those facilities.
