Death Of Birmingham Teen Ruled Justifiable Homicide

The death of a 19-year-old who was shot when he intervened in a domestic dispute has been ruled a justifiable homicide by Birmingham police.

BIRMINGHAM, AL β€” The April 5 shooting death of a 19-year-old in Birmingham has been ruled a justifiable homicide by Birmingham PD investigators. Travio Ollison was shot and killed in the 1900 block of Druid Hill Drive.

Police said Ollison was called to intervene in a domestic dispute at the address in north Birmingham, along with another person. Ollison was then shot and killed during a physical altercation.

"Following the assessment, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office ruled the actions justifiable," Sgt. Rod Mauldin said.
