Kingsbury Man Charged in Connection with Crash that Killed Grovertown Woman

A Kingsbury man has been charged in connection with a July, 2020 crash that left a Grovertown woman dead. Taren E. Abair, 29, was killed in a crash on U.S. 6 in rural LaPorte County, according to LaPorte County sheriff’s deputies.

Now, John R. Niego, 60, has been charged with the felonies of reckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter, and criminal recklessness, along with a misdemeanor charge of aggressive driving. The Sheriff’s Office says Niego self-surrendered at the LaPorte County Jail on March 26 and was released on bond that same day.
