Denver will get a drier Wednesday as temperatures nudge over 50 degrees under mostly cloudy skies, but conditions will change overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, rain, snow and possibly thunder will move back in overnight, and the temperature will drop to 36 degrees. Precipitation will become more widespread overnight, although precipitation rates will be light. The mountains could get up to five inches of snow with nearly no accumulation across lower elevations by sunrise.
Colorado’s cool and unsettled pattern will continue as snow showers will develop in the high country spread east across the plains by Thursday afternoon. Widespread rain and snow is expected across the plains later Thursday into midday Friday, with all snow expected after sunset Thursday. Several inches of snow accumulation will be possible, even in the lower elevations.
Denver’s high will be 47 degrees, with an overnight low of 30. There is an 80 percent chance for precipitation throughout the day, with up to three inches of snow falling downtown by Friday morning.

Highs will barely get above 40 degrees Friday, as the chance for precipitation lasts into the day before subsiding later into the day. Friday night will dip below freezing as will Saturday evening, which has projected lows below 20 degrees.
The mountains and foothills could see another couple inches of snow accumulation this weekend. A brief reprise will come Sunday as milder and drier conditions are in the forecast. But yet another storm system will increase snow chance across Colorado on Monday.
