Kansas Selected for Joint Child Welfare, Human Services Program

Governor Kelly announced on Tuesday that Kansas was selected to join the National Governors Association’s Supporting Child and Family Well-Being program.

Kansas was one of eight states selected to take part in a network that brings together Governors’ offices along with child welfare leaders, state human services/education officials, and non profit partners to collaborate on strategies that improve and support the well-being of children and families.

The other states included in this network in addition to Kansas are Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, New York, and West Virginia.

The 2021 Child and Family Well-Being Learning Cohort was launched by the National Association Center for Best Practices and the Casey Family Programs.

The network will regularly convene through the end of the year to coordinate strategic solutions to preventing child abuse and neglect.
