COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A child is recovering after police say he was shot in East Linden.
The shooting happened after midnight on Hanna Drive, police said.
A 10-year-old boy was inside his family's home when someone fired shots from outside into his bedroom. He was rushed to Nationwide Children's Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police said his condition was upgraded to stable.
“It’s scary but I do the best I can do to protect them," said family friend Maggie Miller, who heard at least seven gunshots in the night. "I hear shootings occasionally, but I really don’t know I pray a lot for the neighborhood as well as my family.”
No suspects have been arrested as of Wednesday morning.
