MARTINSVILLE, Va. –

A Martinsville man is in jail, charged with shooting into an occupied car in an incident that happened last week. Anthony Eugene Moore was arrested Tuesday and charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a violent felon, reckless handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm within the city of Martinsville.

The 36-year-old is being held in the Martinsville Jail, without bond.

Investigators were called to an address on Armstead Ave. around 6:15 on the night of April 8 after receiving a report that a fight was in progress and shots had been fired. After receiving the 911 call, the victims came to police headquarters to report that they were the intended targets of the shooter. No one was struck by gunfire but bullets damaged the victims’ vehicle.

The investigation is continuing.
