An opportunistic thief stole a WCBS Mobile Weather van while it was parked in Hells Kitchen and took it on a joy ride all the way to the Bronx, striking a cab along the way, cops said.
The crook took the van from W. 50th St. and 11th Ave., where it was parked with its keys still in the ignition, and zipped down W. 50th about 4 p.m. Tuesday. He hit a cab between Fifth and Sixth Ave., cops said.
The thief made it all the way to E. 138th St. in the Bronx before police caught up and arrested him, cops said.
His name wasn’t immediately released, and charges against him were pending, police said.
