A Peoria County woman in her 40s is among the Tri-County's three new COVID-19 fatalities reported in the past day.

Public health officials on Tuesday reported 332 new infections. But active cases are down by almost 200, with 2,310 area residents isolating at home and 147 coronavirus patients in Peoria-area hospitals, including 44 in intensive care units.

The other new victims were both Woodford County men above 70. Additionally, officials said Monday’s fourth reported victim from Peoria County was a woman in her 80s. The region's death toll since last March stands at 615 while the case count is up to 40,388 – an increase of 332 from Monday.

Of the 102 counties in Illinois, 10 are at COVID-19 warning levels - with the Tri-County area plus McLean and Stark counties representing half of those. On Saturday, Peoria County recorded a 16.5% positivity rate among 1,065 samples tested.

Illinois health officials reported 3,193 new cases and 17 additional deaths in the past day. The state’s totals since the start of the pandemic increased to 1,285,398 illnesses and 21,540 fatalities.

Updated vaccination figures from the Illinois Department of Public Health showed the Tri-County area’s daily average for doses administered climbing to 3,009 over the past week.

Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties collectively have administered 209,215 total injections, with 2,344 shots added in the past day.

With 1,681 fully dosed individuals added in the past day, the number of area residents completely vaccinated rose to 89,494. That's about 25.5% of the region's population.

Illinois has totaled about 7.35 million shots in arms and 2.95 million fully vaccinated residents, or 23.2% of the state’s population.
