MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Martinsville have arrested a man who, they say, was involved in a shooting that took place on April 8 on Armstead Avenue.

According to the Martinsville Police Department, at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, a call came in about a fight in progress with shots fired in the area of Armstead Avenue.

A short time after that call, police say the victims came to the department to report they had been shot at along Armstead Avenue.

No injuries occurred, but a vehicle belonging to a victim was reportedly struck several times by gunfire.

According to the department, 36-year-old Anthony Eugene Moore was arrested on Tuesday, April 13 in connection with the incident.

Police say he is being charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a violet felon, reckless handling of a firearm, and discharging a firearm within the City of Martinsville.

Moore is reportedly being held without bond in the Martinsville City Jail.
