Popular Diner Reopening After Fire In West Haven

The restaurant is reopening for takeout and delivery, the owners announced.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Georgie’s Diner in West Haven is reopening Wednesday after closing more than eight months ago due to a fire.

The popular diner, located at 427 Elm St., closed last July after a fire in the basement that was quickly knocked down by firefighters.

“We still have some loose ends to tie up, but we can’t wait any longer!” the owners recently wrote in a post on Facebook. “Georgie’s will be open for TAKEOUT & DELIVERY this Wednesday-Saturday 10am-2pm. Hours and services will be expanded ASAP and updated here!”
