Comfy Cow to open new East End scoop shop

The Comfy Cow is preparing to open its fifth area location within an upscale shopping center later this summer, Louisville Business First reported.The Louisville-based ice cream company will open a scoop shop at The Paddock Shops at 4005 Summit Plaza Drive. The Comfy Cow, which recently moved its headquarters to Louisville's Portland neighborhood, currently has locations at 2221 Frankfort Ave., 1301 Herr Lane, 13301 Shelbyville Road and 339 Cardinal Boulevard.Owner Chip Hamm said Comfy Cow customers — especially ones in Oldham County — have been asking for the brand to expand to the Brownsboro Road area."People had been asking for it for years and we just really hadn't found the right place at the right time until now," he said. "We're really excited about it; I think it's going to be a great store."The new East End location is about 1,200 square feet and will have access to a large outdoor patio space.
