What to know about El Paso's boxing card at the Don Haskins Center on April 23

On April 23 at the Don Haskins Center, a fight card promoted by Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy promotions will be in El Paso.

Middleweight contender D’Mitrius “Big Meech” Ballard (20-0-1, 13 knockouts) will step in to face Mexico's Jaime Munguia (36-0, 29 KOs) for the WBO Intercontinental middleweight championship. 

Initially, Poland's Maciej Sulecki was set to fight but was forced to pull out due to an injury.

Who is on the main boxing event card?

Jaime Munguia vs. D’Mitrius Ballard in a middleweight fight between two unbeaten fighters for the WBO Intercontinental middleweight championship. Munguia is a former world champion at 154 pounds and is trained by one of Mexico's greatest fighters, former champion Erik Morales.

Tickets are on sale now and are priced at $200, $100, $60 and $35 not including applicable service charges. The televised portion of the event will be streamed live exclusively on DAZN worldwide, excluding Mexico, beginning at 7 p.m. Additional undercard bouts will be streamed live on Facebook Watch via the Golden Boy Fight Night Page beginning at 2:30 p.m. 

Who is fighting the undercard at the Don Haskins Center?

The undercard features a mix of young fighters, a women's fight and a NABF heavyweight title bout. Among the names to watch out for on the undercard are Heavyweight Arslanbek “Lion” Makhmudov, female flyweight Marlen Esparza, welterweight Blair Cobbs and Irish middleweight prospect Aaron “Silencer” McKenna.
