OSHA WILL BE FINISHED THIS JUNE. IOWA’S’S FIRST LATINO FILM FESTIVAL WILL TAKE PLACE THIS SUMMER. ORGANIZERS MADE THE ANNOUNCEMENT THIS MORNING. THE LATINO CENTER OF IOWA IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CHICAGO LATINO FILM FESTIVAL WILL HOST THE EVENT. THE HOPE OF THIS FESTIVAL WILL BE TO COLLECT IOWANS TO ALL ASPECTS OF LATINO CULTURE THAT MANY PEOPLE MAY NOT BE EXPOSED TO. >> THE FESTIVAL WILL BE HOSTED AT THE NEWLY COMPLETED RIVERVIEW PARK AT THE THEATER. IT WILL BE ONE OF THE FIRST EVENTS AT THAT VENUE. WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO HAVE THAT OPPORTUNITY TO OPEN THAT UP. ALYX: ORGANIZERS SAY THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE JUNE 18 THROUGH 20 AND WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

Des Moines to host Latino film festival
Iowa's first Latino film festival will take place this summer.Organizers made the announcement from the State Historic Museum on Tuesday morning. The Latino Center of Iowa, in partnership with the Chicago Latino Film Festival, will host the event. The hope of this festival, they say, will be to connect Iowans to all aspects of Latino culture that many people may not be exposed to."The festival will be hosted at the newly completed Riverview Park Amphitheater. It's going to be one of the first events at the venue, so we are excited to have that opportunity to open that up for the great festival," said Luis Leon with the Latino Center of Iowa.Organizers say the event will take place June 18 through 20.
