“A guy named James Burke was appointed chief of police, and the first thing he did was he kicked out all of the task forces. He kicked out the head of detectives and didn't even download him and download that information, figure out what he knew. He just kicked him out. Then, the most egregious thing that he did is he kicked the FBI out of the investigation. So you have ten bodies and actually, 11 with Shannan being found on the beach in Oak Beach on the South Shore of Long Island, and he kicks out the most sophisticated crime-solving unit in the history of the world. Why did he do that?”

Dr. Oz and Jensen will also discuss Burke's checkered history of being involved with sex workers and an internal affairs investigation into misconduct, according to the show. Dr. Oz says he is "stunned" by the lack of punishment Burke got at the time and his eventual promotion to chief of police.
