Seal pup released at Assateague

BERLIN, Md. – A seal pup has finally been returned home after undergoing therapy.

Eloise the seal was returned to the ocean on Wednesday at Assateague State Park. She was rescued a few months ago from Cape Henlopen, when she was believed to be less than one month old. At that time, she was very malnourished and had lacerations on her neck.

Those who worked with her say she surpassed all of her rehab milestones, making her eligible for release.
