From James Spann and the ABC 33/40 Weather Blog:

BIG WARM-UP TODAY: The sky is clear across Alabama early this morning with many communities in the 40s around daybreak. Look for a big warm-up today temperatures reach the low 80s this afternoon with a sunny sky. A few spots could even see mid 80s making it one of the warmest days so far this year. We stay warm and dry tomorrow; with a partly sunny sky temperatures will return to the low 80s by afternoon.

MID-WEEK SHOWERS: A disturbance will bring a chance of showers to the state Wednesday. Some thunder is possible, but this time thankfully there is no risk of severe thunderstorms. The heaviest rain will be over the southern half of the state where moisture is deeper amounts for North Alabama will be under 1/2 inch. The day will be a cooler with highs in the mid 70s.

THURSDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND: For now we expect dry weather Thursday and Friday with a mix of sun and clouds we project highs in the 65-69 degree range, which is about 7-10 degrees below average for mid-April in Alabama. A disturbance will bring the chance of some light rain to the state Friday night, followed by a dry weekend. With a partly sunny sky the high Saturday and Sunday will be close to 70 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: Global models continue to suggest a relatively quiet pattern with little, if any rain through the week along with temperatures at or below seasonal averages. No sign of any late season freeze there is a high probability the next freeze for most of Alabama will come in late October or November.
