Woman, 32, fatally struck by Jeep in Brooklyn, driver arrested on DWI charge

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 32-year-old woman was killed Friday when she was struck by an SUV driven by a New Jersey man who was arrested on a DWI charge, police said.

Lakierdra Thomas, of Brooklyn, was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee at Graham Avenue and Broadway in Williamsburg shortly before 12:45 p.m., according to police.

Thomas was found unresponsive with trauma to her body. She was rushed by EMS to Woodhull Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Jeep, 47-year-old Uri Hochberg, was later arrested on charges of manslaughter and DWI, police said.

An investigation by the NYPD’s Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.
