NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW-TV) — It's a classroom and a popular place to dine. Savor Restaurant in Niagara Falls opens again as students begin a new class. It's the hands-on, center of activity for the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute.

Hospitality instructor Daniel Dipirro says "Every student who goes here, whether they are a culinary student a baking and pastry student or a hospitality student all have to take one class at Savor."

While Daniel covers the front of the house, Executive Chef Ben Loomis is in the kitchen transforming his students into "culinary wizards". He says "Today we're teaching our students the night service."

When the doors open, the classroom becomes an actual, fully functional restaurant with an upscale menu and reasonable prices. Chef Ben says "Our dinner menu is a 25 dollar prix fixe menu." The prix fixe menu includes 3 courses: a starter, main dish and dessert. The price for lunch is $15.

While the restaurant industry has been hit hard by the pandemic, Daniel says it's still a great career choice "It's a great industry-especially where we are located too..I don't think people realize how much money you can make working in a restaurant...even as a waiter."

Savor Restaurant is located at 28 Old Falls St, Niagara Falls, NY 14303 you can get more information and make reservations at their website.
