Man hospitalized after being shot near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road

Phoenix police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting in the area of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road that put a man in the hospital, according to a statement by Sergeant Ann Justus of the Phoenix Police Department. 

According to Justus, it is believed that the victim was shot by an unknown man who fled the scene on foot.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a man with a gunshot wound. The man was promptly transported to the hospital with serious injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are working to get more information on the leadup to the shooting, Justus said.
