Quinlan Man Arrested for Sunday’s Police Chase Through Hopkins and Hunt Counties

A 45 year old Quinlan man has been arrested by Hunt County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the Sunday morning pursuit through Hopkins and Hunt Counties that involved DPS, Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, Hunt County Sheriff’s Office and Commerce Police Department.
Stephen Capps has been arrested for fleeing from officers in a Black Nissan Altima Sunday morning, eventually escaping into the fog.

Capps was traveling Westbound in the Eastbound lanes of I-30 before jumping the “Emergency Vehicle Turnaround” crashing into the sign around the 108 mile marker. He continued onto the North Service Road before escaping into the fog.

Capps at one point in time was Eastbound in the Westbound lanes of I-30, nearly hitting several vehicles head on.

The wrecked Altima was found on CR 2010 in Delta County by Hunt County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
Capps has been charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle and Failure to Stop When Involved in Accident Where Damage > $200. He is also held on a warrant for Assault Causes Bodily Injury.
