Walnut Creek Power Outages Impacted Hundreds

The East Bay was the hardest hit area for power outages as a storm tore through the Bay Area, according to PG&E.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Hundreds of people in and around Walnut Creek were without power early Wednesday morning, a PG&E outage map shows. By late afternoon, the number had dwindled to less than a dozen.

One outage alone left more than 600 customers in the cold and dark.

Across the Bay Area, more than 36,000 customers were without power at 4:30 a.m. By 6:30, the number had been cut to 27,000 and the number continued to go down as crews worked to restore electricity.

The largest outages were in the East Bay, where more than 16,000 customers were affected at one time.
