PHOENIX — How does $0.75-cent tacos sound?

Macayo's is running a promotion for $0.75-cent shredded beef and shredded chicken tacos at all of its restaurants on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, part of its year-long 75th Anniversary celebration.

On the 26th of each month leading up to the September anniversary date, Macayo's plans to have some sort of 75-cent promotion, according to a news release.

February 26 will be cheese enchiladas and March 26 will be cheese crisps.

The Johnson Family opened Macayo's in the 1940s and steadily expanded the brand and opened more restaurants over the decades.

In 2019, the family sold the restaurant and brand to Kind Hospitality, a Mesa, Arizona-based restaurant company.

The family retained ownership of two locations in downtown Phoenix and downtown Tempe -- Woody's Macayo's and Macayo's Depot Cantina -- but both have since closed.
