NORTHPORT, NY — Ohana means family. You can now add feline versions of Lilo and Stitch to yours, as the 4-month-old bonded siblings are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

They were rescued from the streets as babies and were frightened when found, Lora Wild, a volunteer at the rescue, said. They're ready for their forever home after being fostered with patience and love.

"Lilo, a beautiful calico tabby little girl, has come so very far," Wild said. "When she first arrived, she cowered in a corner. Now, one of her favorite things to do is to cuddle in someone’s arms, preferably in a cozy robe or sweatshirt, falling asleep peacefully, and purring endlessly."

Lilo loves to play with her kitty toys.

Stitch, a male tabby with "amazing" markings and fur, is considered an entertainment hog, Wild said.

"He will pick up his toys and carry them around in his mouth like a puppy," she said. "He enjoys toys so much; he will climb up your body to get one. When he is really happy, he will cover you with kisses and then cuddle in your arms or fall asleep on your lap."

Stitch and his foster dad would enjoy a bowl of pistachios together, with Stitch trying to steal the shells.

They are currently at Petco Commack and adore visitors, but they are a bit scared now that they are in the rescue organization's habitats, according to Wild.

"They were so traumatized when they arrived, and now are more than ready for a home," she said. "Watching them overcome their fears has been pure joy. They were also fostered with other cats and get along beautifully with them. We hope to find them a home together soon and adopt them into a loving family where they belong."

They are neutered/spayed, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
